After all the efforts Britney Spears and her conservator-father Jamie put into getting her life back on track, Brit could soon come face-to-face with a ghost from her troubled past. In Touch Weekly reports that her former bad-influence-BFF Sam Lutfi hopes to rekindle his relationship with the pop star.

On July 31, Jamie’s conservatorship is set to expire, and, coincidentally, that same day Britney’s old pal Sam is due in court to address the restraining order that keeps him at least 250 yards away from her at all times. On the off-chance that Jamie’s role isn’t renewed, and Sam gets his hanger-on freedom restored, the singer could be left in a vulnerable position.

“Sam believes that he and Britney are still friends,” an insider revealed to In Touch. “If the restraining order is lifted, he’ll be back in her life for sure.”

According to the source, Sam doesn’t see the problem with that. In fact, he denies the accusations Britney’s mother Lynne leveled against him in court that led to the order, including that he drugged and manipulated Britney. From his point of view, he’s the wronged party.

“Sam insists it will come out that the restraining order was against the wrong guy,” said the insider. So lifting the restraining would give him the chance to “protect Britney from the vultures out there.”

Baby on the way for Ben and Jen         Baby-bump watchers who’ve had their eyes fixed on Jennifer Garner’s growing tummy for weeks can finally stop playing the is-she-or-isn’t-she guessing game. She is.

While the actress and her husband Ben Affleck remain tightlipped on the matter, their close friend, former “Alias” star Victor Garber shared the good news with UsMagazine.com.

When asked if the Jennifer was pregnant, Victor told the publication, “Yes, she is.”

As for when Ben and Jen’s 2-year-old daughter Violet can expect a little brother or sister, it won’t be too long. A source revealed Jennifer is already five months along.

“(Nick’s) sensitive about being perceived as a kept man, so he’s going out of his way to indulge Mariah with lavish gifts and expensive dinners,” a source told the magazine. “And the bottom line is that he just doesn’t have the kind of money she has. It’s starting to stress him out.”

The source claims Nick’s “burying himself in debt” in an effort to keep up with the demands of Mariah’s diva lifestyle. To make matters worse, when moneymaking opportunities do come his way, Nick isn’t sure if he’s earned them or they’re simply meant as perks for the man who married Mariah.

“It hurts him when people use him to get to Mariah,” the insider explained. “Or worse, (when they) think of him as Mr. Carey.”

Dish on the flyFormerly perma-tanned actress Lindsay Lohan is looking less orange nowadays. A friend told Star magazine the new lighter shade of LiLo is all thanks to the star’s ever-present gal pal Samantha Ronson. “Sam told Linds that her skin is beautiful in its natural state, which is very pale, and to stop using all that tanning cream,” the source revealed. Lindsay was said to be tiring of the Oompa-Loompa look anyway, as “it’s such a pain to apply.” … Jerry O’Connell and Rebecca Romijn haven’t jumped onboard the Hollywood baby boom yet, but they hope to soon. “We're trying to get pregnant,” Jerry told People magazine. “It would be amazing if it happened. I hope it does.”
