On the road with the ‘Dukes’

Jessica Simpson puts on her best as cast greets soldiers on USO tour

Jessica Simpson, Johnny Knoxville and Seann William Scott brought their new movie to the troops this week, and we were granted exclusive Access!

So while "The Dukes of Hazzard" may not open until August 5, this week some lucky soldiers got an early taste and Access Hollywood's Tim Vincent was the only reporter along for the ride.

First stop, Robins Air Force Base in Macon, Georgia, where Tim was waiting to greet the cast as they stepped off the plane, where Jess was the first to touch down.

"How do you decide what to wear when you come to a military base?" Tim asked Jessica. "Do you dress up demur or do you go sexy?"

"I want to pay respect and always wear a dress," she smiled, donning a classy black number.

"It's a very nice dress and still very sexy," Tim noted.

"It's very Marilyn Monroe," Simpson added.

And the blond Daisy Duke — with puppy Daisy in tow — got a Marilyn-worthy welcome from the soldiers stationed in Macon.

But during the Q&A session, Jessica dodged the spotlight when a female soldier asked her to sing.

"Oh no. I've been talking too much," a coy Jessica replied. "I'm a little hoarse right now."

"Do you want to sing for us?" Simpson's "Dukes" co-star Johnny Knoxville asked the soldier, who responded with a few beautiful notes to the delight of the crowd.

After talking with the soldiers, it was time for a few quick local interviews, where one reporter asked for a little more than an answer from Jessica.

"Is there any way of getting a kiss on the cheek?" the man asked.

But it was a different "Duke" who obliged.

"Why sure," Johnny interrupted, promptly planting one on the man's cheek.

Then it was off to a meet and greet with the families of deployed soldiers.

"Is Nick with you?" one woman asked Jessica as she was signing autographs.

"I wish," Simpson answered. "He's in New York doing lots of business meetings. But I will see him in two days for the ["Dukes of Hazzard"] premiere."

A few dozen autographs later, both Jessica and Seann William Scott were enamored with one adorable, yet shy, little girl.

"You're a supermodel," Scott told the lil' tyke.

"I like your blonde hair and brown eyes," Jessica followed.

And finally, the day was capped off as the "Dukes" gang arrived via Humvees to their mini-movie premiere at the Robins theater.

The next stop on the "Duke" family jamboree will be Jessica's home state of Texas and Access Hollywood will have that for you on Thursday!
