Princess Beatrice has given her first media interview, in a glamour magazine spread accompanied by a series of alluring photographs, to mark her 17th birthday.

Beatrice, the eldest daughter of Queen Elizabeth II’s second son, Prince Andrew, and his ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, appears on the front cover of the September issue of Tatler magazine.

The young princess, who is a cousin of Prince Charles’ children, Prince William and Prince Harry, and is fifth in line to the throne, acknowledged in the interview that she is “very lucky.”

“I wouldn’t trade my life for anyone else’s,” she was reported as telling the magazine.

“I love being who I am and feel very happy with that. A lot of it is quite normal, scooting around the supermarket with a shopping trolley and things like that.”

Beatrice says the divorce of her parents in 1996 has given her and younger sister, Eugenie, the best of two different worlds, and has brought the family closer together.

She describes her grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, as “the most amazing woman anyone could ever meet.”

Beatrice, who named her favorite television programs as “Desperate Housewives” and “The OC,” said she was no “stereotypical princess.”

“People often expect one thing ... and I give them another,” said Beatrice, who celebrates her birthday on Monday.
