New 'Idol' judges take spots as auditions open

Looks like Jennifer Lopez andSteven Tyler are settling into their "American Idol" judging seats quite nicely.

Auditions kicked off Tuesday in New Jersey.

On his Twitter page, executive producer Nigel Lythgoe posted a photo of the two new judges — along with returning judge Randy Jackson.

"It's great to be back on "American Idol," he wrote. "The judges were great."

When she announced her new gig earlier this month, the 40-year-old Lopez — who is earning a cool $12 million — said: "I'm looking for the next Michael Jackson."

Said Tyler, 62: "We're sure going to send some people home with broken hearts. But with all that we've been through in our careers, living vicariously through the young talent out there, it's going to be hard. But it's also going to be fun, because they're stepping up to the plate, and so are we."
