Comic actor Kevin Nealon tweeted a vintage photo and a touching message about his late friend and former girlfriend, fellow "Saturday Night Live" alum Jan Hooks, who died Thursday at age 57.
Nealon also retweeted a Facebook link to a video of a touching 1987 "SNL" sketch called "Love is a Dream," which features Hooks and late "SNL" vet Phil Hartman, who was shot and killed by his wife in 1998.
In the sketch, Hooks plays an elderly woman who visits her tiara and pearl necklace in a safe-deposit box and finds the gems throwing her back into a vivid memory of dancing with Hartman's character. The sketch was replayed as a tribute to Hartman after his death.
Other stars also remembered Hooks on social media, including Pee-Wee Herman. Hooks played an Alamo tour guide in the film "Pee-Wee's Big Adventure" and famously told him, "There's no basement in the Alamo!" when he was sure his stolen bike was there.
Herman wasn't alone in his fond memories of Hooks.
According to news website Hometown Headlines, Hooks, a Georgia native, will be laid to rest next to her aunt in Northview Cemetery in Cedartown, Georgia.
