In preparation for their big return to college, Hoda and Kathie Lee paid tribute to "Animal House" with a special bodily-function-filled wildlife segment.

TODAY pal David Mizejewski brought by the usual host of terrifying beasts: a cute kudamundi, a pretty African grey parrot and, to their chagrin, an "angry warthog" and a reticulated python that Hoda said looked like a "Britney Spears prop."

They gamely patted the snake for David, even though it tried to pee on them (they were good sports, considering their recent run-in with an incontinent wolf). But they were less charitable with the warthog.

"Just because an animal isn't pretty doesn't mean it's not important," David reminded them.

"Beauty is in the eye of the beholder," agreed Kathie Lee, before beholding the warthog briefly and pronouncing it "pretty darn ugly."

Julieanne Smolinski is a TODAY.com contributor who would totally adopt a warthog.
