Jolie’s weight loss tied to mother’s death

Her diminishing figure is the subject of much speculation, and oddly even envy. But increasingly thin Angelina Jolie wouldn’t wish her diet secret on anyone.

In a portion of an interview posted by Digital Spy, the slender movie star told Grazia magazine that her weight loss is connected to grief, not an eating disorder. Angelina’s mom, Marcheline Bertrand, died in January after a heartbreaking battle with ovarian cancer.

“I have always been lean and this year I lost my mother and I’ve gone through a lot,” said Angelina. Anyone who’s lost a beloved parent knows the pain just doesn’t disappear. Yet Angelina is shocked that among all the rumors about her appearance, grief was never taken into account.

“The thing that’s disturbing is that instead of people saying, ‘This looks like a person that’s actually dealing with something, probably from emotions,’ they say, ‘Does she fit into skinny jeans and look thin?’” Angelina observed.

“I want people to understand who I am as a person is not somebody that’s trying to look thin, but just trying to work through a very difficult year,” she added.

The award-winning actress and activist is one half of one of Hollywood’s most powerful couples.

According to Digital Spy, even her partner, Brad Pitt, worries that Angie lost too much weight over the last few months. Angelina said he’s been very supportive.

“He is just a great friend and when my mother passed, he was so great,” Angelina recalled. “He sat with me and held (my mother’s) hand. After she passed away he spent the night asking me and my brother about our mother and got us to tell funny stories about her.

“He focused on all the love and joy we were fortunate enough to have had,” Angelina added. “He was extraordinary.”

Heidi melted Spencer’s engagement ring
As “Hills” fans already know, the engagement is off between Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt. No shock there. But Heidi isn’t giving back the engagement ring. She recently told Us Weekly, she’s already turned the ill-fated ice into a pendant.

“It wasn’t my dream ring,” Heidi told the magazine. “I don’t like what it represents. I might sell it.” (Hopefully on eBay!)

While the material blonde isn’t sentimental over the gold-and-diamond symbol, Heidi said she’s not letting go of Spencer.

“We’re just going back to being boyfriend and girlfriend,” Heidi said, with Spencer interjecting in the interview, “ ... when our relationship was flawless.”

Wait, Spencer! Tell us how you really feel!

“I need to accept that Heidi wants her princess wedding and that she is the boss,” Spencer told Us.

While “Hills” fans speculate that their relationship is too damaged to repair, Heidi remains hopeful. “I have a high tolerance for pain,” she said. “I’ve lived with Spencer.”

Baby brought back spark for SJP and Matthew BroderickWhile many credit their bundles of joy with zapping mommy and daddy time, Sarah Jessica Parker claims it’s just the opposite for her and hubby Matthew Broderick. She explained to Sunday magazine how giving birth to James, now 4, was a turning point in their lives.

“We’ve always had a good marriage but it was made stronger with the birth of our son,” she told the publication. “Having a child made our marriage more romantic and has brought us closer in many different ways.”

Motherhood made Sarah Jessica feel complete as well. But she points out that timing is everything. “It’s made me feel very whole and happy,” she explained. “I don’t think I would have been so relaxed and satisfied had I had a child in my 20s or early 30s. But being with Matthew and knowing that he was going to be a good father was very reassuring. We’ve enjoyed pretty much everything that comes with being parents.”

Dish on the flyBefore being revived as Dr. McDreamy on “Grey’s Anatomy,” Patrick Dempsey felt pretty depressed. The actor found it hard to cope with his early, inconsistent fame, reports ContactMusic. “It was a very difficult time,” Patrick confessed. “I was insecure. I felt I was no good. … There were years when I wasn’t working and people didn’t care about me.” …  How does Oscar-winning actress Helen Mirren spend her tube time? Watching reality TV, of course. According to the Daily Mirror, “The Queen” star is obsessed with “America’s Next Top Model.” “I love it,” Helen admitted. “I love Tyra. It’s wonderful to watch the appalling nature of females. We are so awful.”
