It's hard to believe it's been 10 years since MTV's "Laguna Beach" gang graduated to "The Hills," or that it's been six years since devoted viewers said so long to that show.
But now it's time to look ahead — and head back to "The Hills"!
Yes, fans of the reality TV soap opera can officially get excited. The first promo for the upcoming anniversary special is here, and with it, leading lady Lauren Conrad is in tell-all form.
"So often, we would say, 'If you knew the real story, like, you would understand,'" Conrad teases in the clip. "And what I'd like to do is tell that story."
As Natasha Bedingfield's "Unwritten" (aka "The Hills" theme song) plays, Conrad goes on to hint at what's ahead.
As footage rolls of her in fashion-designer mode, alongside her line of bridesmaid dresses, LC hints that we'll be "taking a look at what things are like now...and then we're going to take a look back and reveal things that we haven't talked about before."
And yes, "we're" taking a look back, as in there will be a few other familiar faces, too.
As our heroine once said, "Sometimes there are just some people that you never get over" — this whole gang, for instance.
"The Hills: That Was Then, This Is Now" airs Aug. 2 at 9 p.m. on MTV.
