"I have just been seeing boobies in front of me," said Heidi Klum during the May 30th finale of Germany's Next Top Model. "Too bad it happened at this special moment!"
Her comment was later edited out of the live broadcast, since, well, bare breasts weren't meant to be part of the winner's crowning moment. So what happened?
While the Versace-clad Klum was hosting the final installment of the modeling competition, two bare-chested female protesters rushed the stage. Though they didn't make their grievance clear, they'd written "Heidi Klum Horror Show" on their chests. And they appeared to be from the feminist group Femen, which stages topless protests at political rallies and events (like fashion shows) that they feel demean women.
Back in April, a Femen activist rushed up to Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The group was reportedly outraged over the jailing of the punk band Pussy Riot last year.
It's been a strange couple of weeks for Klum, who was just in the news for slipping on stage at the Toys 'R' Us Children's Gala in New York. While tripping on one's dress isn't uncommon (just ask Jennifer Lawrence), Klum suffered the added indignity of inadvertently flashing the audience. And she wasn't wearing underwear!
