This may be the end for the Dark Knight.
The caped crusader himself, Christian Bale, recently sat down with E! News' own Ben Lyons to talk about how he chooses his roles to clearing up rumors surrounding The Dark Knight Rises.
Turns out, Bale has a very straightforward technique for sifting through all the speculation:
"Until Chris [Nolan] tells me, I don't believe it," Bale says. "It's gotta be from his mouth, or else I don't really know."
But there's one very important bit of information Nolan hasn't yet shared with his star. And it's kind of difficult to hear if you're a fan of the reinvigorated franchise: "The thing is that this will be, I believe, unless Chris says different, this will be the last time I'm playing Batman."
Let's just hope Chris says different.
