Legendary rock guitarist and Aerosmith co-founder Joe Perry appeared distressed and stumbled off stage during a performance in New York on Sunday night.

Perry was playing with Hollywood Vampires, a rock supergroup also featuring Johnny Depp and Alice Cooper, at the Amphitheater on Coney Island Boardwalk, when he suddenly sat down on the drum kit riser mid-song. Moments later, Perry stood up, stopped playing and made his way behind an amplifier, where he then — according to concertgoers — passed out.

It happened during the first song of the evening, and the band continued the show while paramedics rushed Perry to the hospital.

After the show, Cooper offered an update.

"Thanks to everyone asking about our brother @JoePerry," he wrote. "He is stable right now, with family & is under the best care."
