Al Roker remembered what it's like to be a new parent after babysitting his granddaughter, Sky.
"The perfect weekend. Thanks to @ouichefroker and @thatteacherwhodjs for letting me babysit my little Sky Clara over the weekend,” the TODAY co-host wrote on Instagram, tagging Sky's parents, his daughter Courtney Roker Laga and his son-in-law Wes Laga. "I forgot how hard a 3+ month old is on your own. 24 hours without a shower. Whew."
Al shared photos of his babysitting gig: Sky napping during walks through New York City's Central Park (she missed all the fall scenery), more naps on grandpa and snuggles. From the looks of a photo shared on Instagram, Al even re-experienced the task of cleaning baby bottles and laying them out to dry.
"It’s been a while since I had this setup going on in the kitchen," he admitted in the caption. "Good to know I can still do this. Like riding a bike. But, I get to give the bike back to the owners."
Sky was born on July 3 and is Al's first grandchild.
Al loves being a grandparent, having pre-planned his nickname (Pop-Pop) and spending any free moment with Sky.
The pair went apple picking together recently (Sky slept through the event) with the family.
"Best #applepicking ever," Al wrote on Instagram. "Blue Sky and my Baby Sky. Family."
Al remarked that his Sept. 20 birthday was made better by the gift of his granddaughter. "Best #birthdaypresent," he wrote on their Instagram photos.
