People magazine revealed exclusive photos of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt's twins Knox Léon and Vivienne Marcheline on its web site Sunday night.

The magazine's cover features their parents holding the three-week-old babies and a photo of their daughter Shiloh, 2, holding her new baby sister.

"It is chaos, but we are managing it and having a wonderful time," Jolie told the magazine. The family is summering in a chateau in Provence, France.

Pitt told People that the four older children run around playing hide-and-seek on the vast grounds.  "[It's] still a cuckoo's nest," the actor said.

The magazine, out on the newsstands on Monday, features 19 pages of intimate family photos with the brood and a full interview with the couple.

Jolie, 33, gave birth to the twins July 12 during a half-hour caesarian operation at a maternity clinic in Nice on the French Riviera.

"Everything went smoothly. The children are doing very well, the mother is doing very well and the father is doing very well," gynecologist Michel Sussmann told AFP at the time.

The twins brought the number of Jolie's children with 44-year-old Pitt to six.

The couple, dubbed "Brangelina" by much of the world's press, have adopted three children: Maddox, 6, born in Cambodia; four-year-old Pax, born in Vietnam; and Zahara, 3, born in Ethiopia.

Their first biological child, Shiloh, was born May 2006 in Namibia.

Jolie told People that the two older daughters are already doting on the twins. "[Shiloh] and Z pick out [the twins'] clothes and help change and hold them," Jolie said to the magazine. "It's sweet – they are little mommies."

The $14 million twins

A person involved in the negotiations for pictures of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie's newborn twins told the Associated Press last week the rights were sold for $14 million.

The person asked not to be named because he was not authorized to release the figure. People magazine scored the photos in a joint deal with the London-based Hello! magazine, and the two will split the bill.

The money will go to a foundation created by Pitt and Jolie that largely focuses on helping children around the world. The $14 million is nearly double the $6 million People paid to feature Jennifer Lopez and her newborn twins on a March cover, according to Forbes.

“We’re thrilled to be able to feature these pictures in People,” managing editor Larry Hackett said in a statement.

Even before the babies were born, the speculation began over which celeb mag would come out on top of an inevitable bidding war. The couple ultimately chose a familiar route in its joint deal between People and London-based Hello! magazine.
