'Big Lebowski'  8-bit video really ties the room together

Since it first graced the big screen 15 years ago, "The Big Lebowski" has given countless frat boys and stoners an aspirational role model. "The Dude," a cardigan-wearing slacker, rolls through life with a calm so effortless you can't help but wonder: what's this guy's secret? No one's been brave enough to adapt the Coen brothers classic to a video game and give us an opportunity to walk in The Dude's shoes, but the good people at Cinefix have done the next best thing with "The Big Lebowski: 8-bit Cinema."

Like the other installments in its clever 8-bit movie series, Cinefix re-imagines "The Big Lebowski" as an old-school video game from the Super Nintendo era, when all games were brightly colored, adorable to behold and cast with annoying chiptune music. It covers all the film's high points, from the rug-soiling that begins Lebowski's strange adventure to Walter's confrontation with the nihilists. The Dude's iconic dream sequence with guest star Saddam Hussein isn't included, but perhaps the short will prove inspiration for some indie developer to finally make what would undoubtedly be the greatest video game of all time.

You can watch the whole video here. And while you're at it, check out the 8-bit versions of "The Shining" and "Pulp Fiction."
