Bareilles said she isn't influenced by the looks of individuals or designers, but rather by feelings and emotions.
"I'm really influenced by the themes that are coming out in my record right now. I like feeling strong, feminine, raw, brave," Bareilles explained. "I like to get a little bit of some menswear stuff in there with some feminine pieces as well. Just stuff that makes me feel super powerful."
