It has been quite the year for style, but according to Pinterest, 2016 is about to get even more stylish — not to mention colorful and crazy.
In the annual Pinterest 100, a curated board of trend predictions across their top 10 categories, the image discovery platform revealed that mermaid hair coloring, coffin nails and androgynous makeup and garments are going to be all the rage.
Next year is the year of no rules — at least when it comes to fashion. Mixing textures and patterns will be in, so start thinking about some crazy cool outfits to whip out, along with a pair of statement sunglasses or a vintage brooch.

It's also the year of Adele, which means it's the year of "the Adele eye."
If your style is more low-key, 2016 also has something to offer you. Athleisure, which earned a spot in Merriam-Webster this year, also experienced more than 21 million pins, and the trend is only going to get elevated next year.
Also, all you fanny pack lovers, get excited: We are entering a year where it's socially acceptable to wear them in public, though the new term is "belt bags."
Hate spending countless hours doing your hair? In 2016 you won't have to because natural hair is in (although we think Tamron Hall started this trend in 2014).

And there's something for men to get excited about in the new year, too, because it's going to be all about the fade hairstyle, menicures and vintage grooming kits.
If beauty isn't your thing, but drinking is, merlot is the hot color of 2016 — just some food for thought.
