When it comes to color, 2016 is going to be all about pastels.
For the first time, color authority Pantone announced not one, but two colors of the year: Rose Quartz and Serenity, according to the Wall Street Journal. (You'd be forgiven for calling them light pink and baby blue, though.)
The unassuming colors are a noticeable change from more daring Pantone picks, like last year's Marsala, and Radiant Orchid and Emerald the years before that. But, they're already established hues on the runway as well as in home decor.

And while the pastel pairing might bring to mind all things baby-related, Pantone said that wasn't the goal.
"Rose quartz is not baby pink," Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of Pantone's Color Institute, told the Journal. "It doesn't have that wimpy feel."
She added that Pantone executives had been considering two colors, and this seemed like the perfect pair.

"From a business perspective, it's two colors, so it's an opportunity to make extra combinations," Eiseman said. "It makes for a perfect combination in the home."
As it happens every year, expect to see brands taking note and starting to create products in Rose Quartz and Serenity, just in time for the holidays.
