- 1 cup sugar
For smoothie
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 1/4 cup plain yogurt
- 1 cup packed fresh basil leaves
- 1 1/2 cup lemon simple syrup
- 1 cup ice
Preparation

For lemon simple syrupIn a small saucepan, combine the sugar, 1 cup water, and the lemon zest and juice over medium heat.
Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved.
Remove the pan from the heat and allow the syrup to cool, about 20 minutes.
For smoothieIn a blender, combine the yogurt, basil, simple syrup, and ice.
Blend until smooth and frothy.
Pour into frosted glasses and serve immediately
