Has Taylor Swift moved from one British heartthrob to another? It hasn't been that long since she and Harry Styles broke up, but 23-year-old Swift has reportedly already spent the night with another man.

E! News reports that Swift was seen having some one-on-one time with British singer Ed Sheeran the night before the 2013 Brit Awards. It's worth noting that Styles played the gentleman at that awards show, calling his ex a "great performer" who is "always good on stage." That hasn't stopped Swift from seemingly moving on to the red-headed "The A Team" singer, though.

Sheeran, 22, was spotted arriving at Swift's hotel and staying "in the room, just the two of them, until around 4 a.m." When he left, Sheeran reportedly used the same car Swift had been driven in earlier in the day.

To add to the intrigue, a source tells E! that Swift and Sheeran briefly dated last spring: "He thinks she is really cute and they have a great chemistry together." Meanwhile, Swift thinks so highly of him, she even posted this endearing tweet about her friend.

The two share some professional history, too: Swift reportedly heard Sheeran's music when she was touring through Australia in March 2012, and asked him to work with her on some new material. Thus, Swift's "Everything Has Changed," from her album Red, was born. Sheeran—who became a hit in the U.K. with the single "The A Team" in 2010—co-wrote and sang on Swift's song. And in topics the pair probably doesn't talk about: Sheeran is also responsible for two songs on One Direction's Take Me Home: "Over Again" and "Little Things.

Does this recent late-night rendezvous mean Sheeran, like Styles, is going to be another notch on Swift's belt? Maybe not, since the duo are currently gearing up for a tour together. They'll be seeing each other pretty much every night from March through September, so now probably isn't the best time for an on-again, off-again relationship.

At least if Sheeran and Swift do start dating, they can't blame any possible break-ups on long-distance. Sheeran plans to move to Nashville for the duration of 2013, which puts him right on Swift's home turf. It helps that he has Swift to thank for much of his success in the United States, as he told MTV News, "I think Taylor's just opening up a lot of doors and it's up to me to make sure that I get through to them. It's a massive opportunity for me and I want to make sure to grab it with both hands."

Yet despite such mutual respect for each other, Sheeran doesn't think he's the pop star's type.

"If you look at all the dudes she’s dated, they’re all tall, brown hair, brown eyes, very attractive, and all the girls scream for them," he tells The Sun. "I'm chubby, ginger with blue eyes."

Well, there's always a first—and he shouldn't sell himself so short. Girls will be screaming for him on tour very, very soon.
