Jennifer Aniston and Britney Spears made headlines over the weekend for showing up in separate photographs and showing off something special in those photos. The crew at TODAY ran through the highlights in a new segment of Pop Fix on Monday.

In the case of Aniston, the actress stepped out with fiancé Justin Theroux for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' 2014 Governors Awards in Hollywood on Saturday. They brought along a special guest in the form of an 8-carat diamond engagement ring on Aniston's finger.

The couple has been engaged since April 2012. Apparently, Aniston was recently spotted without the giant bling, but according to E! Online, a rep said it was being cleaned.

"To get from one side to the other ... they use a Zamboni to clean it. It's amazing," TODAY's Al Roker said.

"I don't even know what 8 carats looks like," Tamron Hall added.

"That's a beast," said Willie Geist.

Meanwhile, away from the red carpet and over on Instagram, Britney Spears was confirming that there is indeed a new man in her life. With a selfie and simple heart emoji, the singer shared that she's found love with Charlie Ebersol, a 31-year-old TV writer and producer.

"If she is with Charlie, then she has done well," TODAY's Natalie Morales said. (Ebersol is the son of former NBC Sports executive Dick Ebersol.)
