Halloween isn't just for kids — and it isn't just for the night of Oct. 31 any more. While we were being dazzled by the TODAY anchors' creative "Saturday Night Live"-inspired costume choices on Friday, stars were out and about shining a light on their amazing undertakings. Here are some of our favorites we've seen so far:

Here's pregnant Liv Tyler, expecting her second child ... with a literal bun in the oven! The actress posted pictures on her Instagram account on Oct. 29, noting that she and her 9-year-old son Milo (we're guessing that's Milo in the shorter costume here) went to the school dance together.

Beyoncé paid tribute to one of her greatest influences, Janet Jackson, by dressing up in an outfit Jackson wore while promoting her 1989 album "1814 Rhythm Nation." She debuted the costume on Oct. 30 at Power 105.1's Powerhouse event in New York City and posed with a fan.

And her little daughter, Blue Ivy, kept the Jackson-family tribute alive, wearing a throwback Michael Jackson costume. Dad Jay-Z gave her a lift.

Every year there are a few celebs who do their best to wow us and even be topical in their costume decisions — and few do it better than Ellen DeGeneres, who walked on stage on her Oct. 30 show as "the luckiest woman in the world, Mrs. George Clooney." Or rather, Amal Clooney, née Alamuddin.

Neil Patrick Harris and his husband David Burtka once again got the whole family involved. "Happy Halloween from Gotham City!!" Harris wrote on Instagram Friday.

Harris got in the swing of things a little earlier by tweeting pre-costume photos of kids Harper and Gideon:

Kim Kardashian proudly shared a sweet photo of her daughter, North West, dressed as a skunk. The perfect costume for moms who want to tease their kids about being stinkers.

Elsewhere, Kate Hudson went all "Sons of Anarchy" at her annual Halloween party in Los Angeles Thursday night, and ... va-va-voom!

While Katy Perry went for kind of the opposite of sexy at the same shindig. Yet she still looked delicious — as a giant Cheeto.

At first we thought Slash stepped out as himself, but that's actually actress Jessica Alba channeling the Guns N' Roses rocker.

And even if we didn't have a picture of this particular superstar who dressed up as a "Pegacorn" and Instagrammed a photo of it ... well, you'd know who it was. Could anyone over the age of 12 get away with this other than Taylor Swift?

Kelly Osbourne and her pals channeled "Rocky Horror" on Oct. 27 when they headed out to party.

Chris Colfer of "Glee" went as classic frustrated feline Grumpy Cat, and he brought his own furry companion.

Director Guy Ritchie and his son (with ex Madonna) Rocco were ready for production as Walter White and Jesse Pinkman from "Breaking Bad" at the UNICEF Halloween Ball in London. He's the one who knocks. And hopefully just says, "trick-or-treat."
