The English TV series "Wild at Heart" trained X-rays on a golden hamster (a species native to northern Syria and southern Turkey) to show how how just far the pockets in the little critter's cheeks expand. It turns out they reach from their mouths all the way down to their hips. (If humans had that, we'd never have to share Thanksgiving leftovers again.)
