She won our hearts playing sympathetic characters in rom-coms, dramas and action films. But in her latest movie, Sandra Bullock has taken on a completely different kind of role to please one very important viewer.

Bullock gets animated in the kids' flick "Minions," and while that's a first for her, it's one she hopes will thrill her 5-year-old son, Louis.

And that only seems fair. After all, Louis has been thrilling her for some time now.

"He's beautiful, and he gives really sweet kisses," the obviously proud mom said in an interview on TODAY Monday. "He's adoring. [And] he's very honest with me about how I look."

Considering that she was named People magazine's World's Most Beautiful Woman earlier this year, he's sure to pile on the praise. Right?

"Mmm, that's usually not what comes out of his mouth," Bullock said with a laugh. "But no, I have a great leading man! He's a good one."

Here's hoping her leading man enjoys her leading role (as a baddie — another first for her) in "Minions."

The prequel to "Despicable Me" opens in theaters nationwide July 10.
