Poor Courtney Love.
The grunge diva — whose child custody hearing is today, is griping that she couldn’t get any designers to lend her a dress for the Grammys. Love — who recently bolted from rehab to go partying, flashed her breast in public, and allegedly conked a fan on the head with a microphone — is also complaining that she can’t get Drew Barrymore, her long-time friend and the godmother of her daughter, to return her calls.
“I’m covered with loser dust,” Kurt Cobain’s widow griped to Blender magazine. Love and her daughter, Frances Bean, did the interview for the mag, according to a source who saw the issue that hits newsstands next week. “I can’t even get an autographed ‘Charmed’ poster for my daughter.”
Courtney got agitated when her mothering skills were questioned, and became defensive when asked about the time that Frances witnessed her mother’s OD — and helped her through it. “I don’t give a f---,” Love said. “This is one of the very, very few instances in Frances’ life where the child took care of the adult. This is not our usual household. Frances is not my girlfriend. In her life she has not had to put up with my outrageously crazy s---. I am normal to her.”
Courtney and Frances disagreed on one thing, however: Janet Jackson’s Super Bowl flashing incident. “Janet Jackson was...inappropriate,” 11-year old Frances told the mag.
“But I’ve shown my tits in front of people, honey,” Love countered.
Frances replied: “But this was in front of children.”
Love’s spokeswoman confirms to The Scoop that the rocker did indeed, do the interview.
Prince goes door to door
Prince no longer reigns with one young ex-fan.
The paisleyed rocker gave a concert in Cincinnati on Tuesday, and according to a source, a little girl with cerebral palsy was hoping to get Prince’s autograph, but was abruptly and curtly turned away. “She was really disappointed,” says the source. “It was awfully sad.”
“He doesn’t give autographs to anyone,” explains a Prince defender. “If he starts making exceptions, it’s not fair to anyone.”
Meanwhile, Prince — a devout Jehovah’s Witness — has been knocking door-to-door in Minneapolis, proselytizing on behalf of the church, according to the London Daily Mirror. The singer reportedly has his bodyguards in tow.
“Dressed in a tailor-made suit and trademark stack heels, he steps lightly out of his purring limo and, surrounded by four bodyguards, approaches the modest picket-fenced homes,” reports the Mirror. “And to each astonished resident opening their doors to the peculiar group, multi-millionaire superstar Prince quietly asks: ‘Would you like to talk about Jesus?’”
Prince’s rep didn’t return The Scoop’s calls for comment.
