And when you're Charlie Sheen, the situation is triply tragic, because this weekend he's missing three of his children's birthday parties...
E! has learned exclusively that not only will Charlie be M.I.A. for the celebration of his daughter Sam Sheen, thrown by ex-wife Denise Richards, but he'll also be missing the second birthday party for his twins Max and Bob.
Sam turned seven years old on March 9, and Denise is holding her birthday party at a gymnastics studio, while Sheen's other ex, Brooke Mueller, plans to celebrate their twin's b-day at Kathy Hilton's home.
"Kathy wanted to throw Max and Bob a birthday party at her house," a source tells E! "Brooke wanted the boys' birthday party to be early from 12 p.m.-2 p.m. because Sam's party is from 2 p.m.-4 p.m."
Regardless of theme or location, the common thread between both parties is that dad Charlie Sheen will not be on the guest list.
While Mueller still has a restraining order against Sheen, sources tell E! that as of Saturday, "there is no plan for Charlie to attend either party."
Denise took to her Twitter earlier this week to tweet about Sam: "Happy 7th Birthday to my beautiful daughter Sami! You and Lola are my little pillars of strength...I love you."
