National Steak and Poultry is recalling nearly 2 million pounds of ready-to-eat chicken products because they may have been undercooked, resulting in possible bacterial contamination, the USDA said.

The recall includes a variety of ready-to-eat chicken products that were produced on various dates from August 20, 2016 through November 30, 2016.

The cases containing the products subject to recall bear establishment number “P-6010T” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to food service locations nationwide and were sold directly to consumers. The products are labeled, “Distributed by National Steak and Poultry, Owasso, Oklahoma.

This is an expanded recall which began on Nov. 23. The original problem was discovered by a call from a food service customer, complaining that the products appeared to be undercooked.

The recalled products include:

  • Fully Cooked, Diced, Grilled Boneless Chicken Breast Meat with Rib Meat with Lot code 100416, and Case Code: 70020. 5 lb. bags packed 2 bags per case.
  • Hormel Natural Choice 100% Natural No Preservatives Fully Cooked Roasted Chicken Breast Strips with Rib Meat Natural Smoke Flavor Added. 5 lb. bags packed 2 bags per case; the product is labeled with lot code 100416, and Case code 702113.
  • Cases labeled “P-6010T” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items were shipped to food service locations nationwide. No other Hormel product is impacted. The original problem was discovered on Nov. 14, 2016, when a food service customer complained to the establishment that product appeared to be undercooked.

No confirmed illnesses have been reported. Consumers who believe they've been sickened by one of the recalled products should contact a medical professional.
