Once you take the turkey out of the oven, it’s go time. Mississippi Delta native Elizabeth Heiskell of the Debutante Farmer blog shares her tips for getting everything on the Thanksgiving table with TODAY's hosts.

Step 1: Take the turkey out of the oven

Once it comes out of the oven, it is imperative that it rest for at least 35 to 45 minutes so the turkey juices can reabsorb into the meat.

Step 2: Put your casseroles in the oven

After your turkey is out of the oven, it’s the casseroles’ turn. That means that it’s time to put your cornbread dressing, spinach au gratin, green bean casserole and mashed potatoes in the oven to warm up or finish cooking if they have been par-baked.

Step 3: Make your gravy on the top of the stove

Once it’s lump-free, keep it covered so it remains hot.

Step 4: Put your cold dishes on the table

Your salads and cranberry sauce are taking up room in the kitchen, so plate them now with serving utensils.

If you’re going to someone’s home, room temperature or cold dishes are the way to go. First of all, your host may not have enough space to warm your dish. You want to bring a dish that’s a great addition and doesn't require any last minute prep. . Also, it’s much simpler to travel with something cold.

If you’re the host, be specific when someone offers to bring something. The last thing you need is a last minute wild card that is brought by a guest

Step 5: Be ready to go for dessert

Plate your pecan and pumpkin pies and keep them covered on the kitchen counter along with dessert plates and forks so they’re prepped once it’s time for dessert.

Step 6: Remove your casseroles from the oven

Once warmed through, cover them with foil and put them to the side or on the table. The foil will hold in the heat for at least 30 minutes.

Step 7: Put your rolls in the oven

Step 8: Carve the turkey and place it on the table

Arrange white and dark meat on a platter so guests can choose their favorites.

Step 9: Remove rolls from the oven and place them on the table

Step 10: Uncover the casseroles and pour gravy into a gravy boat

Step 11: Place all items on table and once drizzle gravy over sliced turkey

The gravy will brings up the temperature of the meat just in time for the meal. Refill the gravy boat before you sit down and enjoy your holiday with family and friends.
