Even Jack Bauer couldn't help the Denver Broncos on Sunday, but he sure gave viewers at home a badly needed jolt when he showed up on screen to give us a taste of what's to come in the upcoming limited series "24: Live Another Day."

Fox cleverly teased out the promo during the game, giving us four quick looks before airing the full spot showing a very mad Jack Bauer carrying a Gothic-looking Chloe out of an explosion in London. In a new behind-the-scenes video released by Fox, Kiefer Sutherland explains what he was going for in his reprisal of one of TV's favorite heroes.

"If it was at all possible to make Jack kind of more angry or pissed off than he was before, that's what we're gonna try to do with the ninth season and that's what this spot is trying to indicate," he said. "That things are that desperate."

He also revealed the spot was shot as one continuous scene with no editing.

"Any time you do something in one shot and one shot only and you're involving explosions, fire, a double-decker bus, two actors and a very complicated camera move that does inverted 360s, you're dealing with a lot of elements," Sutherland said, describing the production challenges.

Here are the five spots in the order in which they aired on Sunday night.

"24: Live Another Day" premieres on Fox on May 5. Joining Sutherland are Mary Lynn Rajskub as Chloe, Kim Raver as Audrey Heller, and William Devane as James Heller. New cast members include: Benjamin Bratt, Yvonne Strahovski, and Tate Donovan.
