Diddy fan arrested for sneaking into star's home, eating his food

An April Fool's joke this wasn't.

More from E: Read the police report

Per the East Hampton Town Police Department report obtained by E! News, 30-year-old Quamine Taylor took a train from New York, then a cab to Combs' pad on March 31. There he managed to enter through an unlocked basement door and remained in the residence for 24 hours before he was finally caught.

As it happens, this isn't the first time the intruder has trespassed on Diddy's estate, having pulled a similar stunt in June 2001. At that time he managed to convince the "Coming Home" rapper's security that he was Combs' cousin after he was discovered lounging in his pool.

On this latest occasion, however, Taylor tripped an alarm and, when Diddy's security appeared, spun a yarn that he had permission to stay there from the Bad Boy Entertainment mogul. The alarm company representative and police officer who initially responded bought the story, and Taylor was in the clear until that afternoon when a caretaker showed up and called the cops.

Taylor will now have to content himself with the Suffolk County Jail, where he remains after being charged with trespassing and petit larceny raps in lieu of $2,000 bail.

Combs' rep has declined to comment.
