Dow closes above 26,000 only 7 trading days after hitting 25,000
In another record-breaking milestone on Wednesday, the Dow surged more than 300 points to close above 26,000 for the first time ever. Stronger-than-expected quarterly results from some of the biggest U.S. companies helped push the market to fresh records. The milestone comes just seven trading days after the index topped 25,000, making it the fastest 1,000-point climb in history.
