California raises age to buy tobacco from 18 to 21
Starting next month, you’ll have to be 21 years old to buy cigarettes in California. Governor Jerry Brown signed the legislation Wednesday and health officials are applauding the move. The Institute of Medicine says that 90 percent of daily smokers began using tobacco before turning 19.
