Cannes 2017 red carpet: See the best looks

Model and actress Amber Valletta showed off her fashion sense in an avant garde, one-shoulder gown at the screening of "Wonderstruck." The flowing layers of copper-colored fabric were accented by a muted floral print. She topped off the look with a diamond choker and playful block-heeled shoes. 

Bella Hadid stepped out in a silky Alexandre Vauthier dress with a thigh-high slit for the film festival's opening gala. The model topped the look off with a dramatic diamond necklace reminiscent of the "Heart of the Ocean" necklace from "Titanic." 

Elle Fanning's graffiti-chic Vivienne Westwood gown was a showstopper on the opening gala red carpet. The structured satin ballgown and elegant ballerina bun were juxtaposed by the punk painting on the skirt's train. 

Emily Ratajkowski was giving major leg on the red carpet in her custom Twinset gown. The silky champagne dress featured delicate spaghetti straps that were complemented by a bold statement necklace. 

Eva Herzigova glittered in gold at the opening gala. She stepped out on the red carpet in an intricately embellished gown with jewel-encrusted spaghetti straps and a thigh-high slit. 

Jessica Chastain attended the opening festival as a member of this year's jury. She wore a black, strapless gown with brightly colored embroidery throughout the bodice. The intricate gown featured a sheer skirt for an effortless touch to the intricately structured dress.  

Julianne Moore was red hot in Givenchy at the opening gala. The monochromatic look featured scarlet embroidery throughout the bodice and bust, and the feathered skirt added a touch of whimsy to the glamorous look. 

Marion Cotillard wore an elaborately beaded minidress for the opening dinner. She paired the silver-hued ensemble with a pair of clear plastic pumps for an updated take on the classic sandal. 

Michelle Williams walked the red carpet before the "Wonderstruck" screening in a stunning navy Louis Vuitton gown. The dress featured a delicate polka-dot pattern and a subtle cap-sleeve accent cascading from the star's shoulders.  

Robin Wright strut her stuff in a Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello minidress for the opening night gala. The gold-studded dress featured an elegant gathered detail at the waist and long sleeves. She completed the look with a pair of simple black pumps. 

Susan Sarandon proved that velvet absolutely can work for the spring in this emerald Alberta Feretti gown. The off-the-shoulder neckline and thigh-high slit gave the look a sultry vibe while her bold shades added to the cool factor. 

Uma Thurman looked like Hollywood royalty in this pale pink Atelier Versace gown. The structured bodice gave the look an art deco feel and a simple diamond choker completed the look. 

The men step it up for the film festival, too! Will Smith looked particularly dapper in a double-breasted navy tuxedo with a bold shawl collar. 

Julianne Moore looked angelic in this feathered Chanel Couture creation at the "Wonderstruck" screening. The white shift dress featured a sequin-covered skirt that the star topped off with stunning silver jewels. 

Naomie Harris opted for a sherbet-hued Gucci gown for the opening gala on Thursday. The star topped off the frothy look with layers of Atelier Swarovski necklaces.
