Wynonna Judd isn't always as stoic as she seemed Tuesday night after her elimination from season 16 of "Dancing With the Stars." In fact, once the cameras stopped rolling and the post-show interviews began, she shed a few tears.
The waterworks started after her pro partner, Tony Dovolani, last season's mirror-ball trophy winner, fondly praised the country crooner.
"Wynonna and I got along great from the word go," Dovolani told reporters after the show. "This is a sad moment, but I also see this as a blessing in disguise because that's how I've looked at every single downfall I've ever had in life. The great thing is that I've met someone I adore. We'll be in each other's lives forever."
It wasn't just being on the bottom of the scoreboard with 15 points that gave Judd a premonition that she'd be going home. "I was quiet all day," she said. "I felt like I was in a really weird movie and now it's over all too soon. My first thought was, 'What am I going to do tomorrow?'"
So what will she do? "I'm going to go home, sleep, work on my record and get back on the stage and sing, which is what God gave me the gift to do."
Judd had turned down offers from the show for many years before agreeing to do this season. She says that she finally said yes in order to face her fears. "I'm not a competitive person by nature. This was terrifying coming into. I only said yes because of Tony."
Judd says she'll continue to dance, with one caveat: "I just won't do it in front of 20 million people!"
