Two investigators have testified they found a hidden file of medical records for Anna Nicole Smith under a clothes pile in her doctor's closet.
Carmen Marquez, a state medical board investigator, testified Thursday in Los Angeles that Dr. Sandeep Kapoor told her he did not have any patient files at home. But during a search, she says, she found a file folder that had Smith's name inside, along with one of her pseudonyms and the name of her son.
Another investigator, Jon Genens, testified that three files eventually were found detailing a home visit made to Smith a year before she died of an overdose in 2007. Genens says one of them mentioned that Smith had a possible addiction to opiates.
Kapoor is among three defendants who have pleaded not guilty to conspiring to provide excessive drugs to Smith.
