Ouch! Watch Haley take a tumble on 'Idol'

Wednesday's “American Idol” semifinals proved to be a night of ups and downs for hopeful Haley Reinhart — literally.

In the midst of a near-perfect performance of Led Zeppelin’s “What Is & What Should Never Be,” with her father rocking out and looking on from the stage, Reinhart took a tumble in her high heels.  Two beats later, she shot back to her feet as though nothing had happened.

“Haley, did you fall for me?” perma-flirty judge Steven Tyler punned after the slip. On a more serious note, he added, “You know, it’s not about how many times you fall. It’s how many times you get back up.”

Tyler wasn’t the only panelist impressed with the “get back up” part of Reinhart’s routine.

“That’s the sign of a professional, somebody who knows what they’re doing up there,” Jennifer Lopez raved.

As for Haley’s sometimes-foil, sometimes-supporter Randy Jackson, he simply joked that he thought “the fall was planned.”
