Even though the third “American Idol” won’t be chosen for another three weeks, the top 10 finalists have made plans for a summer North American tour together.

As has become tradition, the top contestants from the Fox competition/reality series will take their talents into the live arena shortly after the season’s conclusion.

Along for the ride will be those still vying for the title — Fantasia Barrino, Diana DeGarmo, George Huff, Jasmine Trias and La Toya London — as well as those who have already been voted out of the competition — Amy Adams, Camile Velasco, Jennifer Hudson, John Stevens and Jon Peter Lewis.

The tour will visit 48 cities, kicking off July 14 in Salt Lake City and concluding Sept. 26 in San Jose, Calif. Tickets for Canadian shows Sept. 15 in Ottawa and the next day in Toronto will go up May 21. A Sept. 21 Anaheim, Calif., stop will go on sale May 23, while all other shows will go on sale May 22.

Tuesday night, the remaining quintet of “American Idol” hopefuls were scheduled to perform big band material during the show’s regularly scheduled live broadcast at 8 p.m. ET (tape delayed PT). The results of viewer voting will be revealed during Wednesday’s half-hour results episode at 8:30 p.m. ET (tape delayed PT).
