A former quitter recommits to 'Biggest Loser'

Although it’s become an increasingly rare event over the course of the season, each and every "Loser" lost weight in New Zealand, likely due to the rigorous activities.

The lucky cast of “The Biggest Loser” enjoyed yet another week of extreme sports in picturesque New Zealand. With the mountains and waterways of Queenstown serving as their backdrop, the players bungee jumped and cliff climbed their way to weight loss.

Yes, although it’s become an increasingly rare event over the course of the season, each and every “Loser” lost weight this time. What caused the turnaround after last week’s big gains? Maybe it was the rigorous outdoor activities. Maybe it was the unexpected return of ousted trainer Brett. Or just maybe it was because one of the most likable contestants, Moses, is no longer in the game.

Hey, wait! That doesn’t make sense. Well, at least not to anyone who isn’t Moses’ daughter, Kaylee.

For some reason, Kaylee — you know, the same Kaylee who inspired her team to throw a weigh-in four weeks ago so she could drop out the game, and the same Kaylee whose ongoing slump has seen her lose 2 whole pounds over the last six weeks — actually welcomed her father’s exit. With her supportive and rock-steady ally out of the way, she finally felt empowered and motivated, like she could recommit to her “Biggest Loser” experience.

“I think having my dad gone is the best thing for me,” Kaylee boasted.

Ouch! Take that, Moses.

It seems Kaylee was serious about that new dad-free lease on “Loser” life, as she channeled her solo energy into a big 5-pound drop at the weigh-in.

While everyone had a good week, though few as good as Kaylee’s, someone still had to leave “Loser” and New Zealand behind. The yellow line pitted the already slim Hannah against still struggling Ken, but waistlines didn’t decide who would stay and who would go — their fellow contestants did that.

The vote was close, but after offering his best argument to stay — in short, that he really needed to stay — Ken left competition.

Ree Hines was sorry to see Ken go, but she was glad to see him put up a fight. Follow on Twitter and tell her what you think of the latest “Loser” action.
