Miner Juan Illanes said that the talks are "very advanced and we hope there are results soon." He added that it's important that all the miners profit from an agreement. "It's a business deal and when that's the case you want to try to find a way for everyone to profit fairly," Illanes said.

He also mentioned in an AP report that his life is "scandalously different" since he and the other miners were trapped, calling life before the mine collapse that of "a normal worker."

Illanes and fellow miner Raul Bustos were in Costa Rica together on Sunday where they were speaking about their experience in the mine. They're also planning to travel to England on Dec. 11 to attend a Manchester United soccer game.

Bustos spoke out about the lavish lifestyle he and other miners are experiencing, thanks to the many gifts sent their way. "Why do they give them to us? I think that the joy that our rescue represented is now manifesting itself in gifts," he said.
