Britney Spears sure is sounding like someone who’s in a family way.

The newlywed singer, who is widely rumored to be pregnant, has posted a message on her subscription-only fan site, in which she rhapsodizes over the joys of staying home and cooking, advocates having children while you’re still young, and proclaims that mothers shouldn’t work outside the home. Spears recently announced that she was taking at least a few years off before touring again.

“A lot of people think you should wait till you’re older to have kids,” Spears writes. “I’ve had a career since I was 16, have traveled around the world & back and even kissed Madonna! The only thing I haven’t done so far is experience the closest thing to God and that’s having a baby. I can’t wait!” The “Toxic” singer opines that it’s important to have children when you’re young — like her own mother, who “looked sexy in her black dress [when she went to church and] would come home and put on her size 2 shorts and a bikini top to wash the car & get a tan at the same time.”

Spears also has comments that are not likely to endear her to career moms. “To be a really good mom, I feel your child needs to be your fulltime job,” she writes. “I want to raise my kids and share all of those precious moments with them and not rely on nannies.”

Former Material Girl Madonna has embraced spirituality and motherhood, but she still knows what really matters in life: a fabulous pair of designer shoes.

While promoting her new Kabbalah-inspired children’s book, Madonna revealed that she recently had a blow-out fight with directing hubby Guy Ritchie and was so furious that she left him in England and flew to New York.

“We used to fight a [bleep] of a lot,” Madonna told Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan on their British talk show Channel Four. “Not so much now. One time recently though we had a very big fight and I went back to New York. Then he sent me a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes. I remember them well - they were really sexy sandals in lavender and I still have them in my wardrobe.  . . . Shoes work.”

Even famous folks get patted down at the airport. Barbara Walters says she was aggressively frisked by folks in security, who apologized and fawned over her even as they made her unbuckle her belt.  . . . Insiders are speculating that the was an inside job. . . . Colin Farrell says he stinks at personal relationships. “I have single-handedly destroyed every relationship I’ve been in by being in it so much — every candle burns out and dies,” the star told the Sunday Times of London. “I don’t know how I can sustain it. Whatever I’m addicted to in the person, what makes it engaging and electric, is also a destructive force. I need to be surprised a lot.”
