Bristol Palin is hot like fiyah!
The little Alaskan that could looked seriously good on last night's Dancing With the Stars (and her scores finally showed it)--but it's what she said about fake, Hollywood types that stood out most.
Was she really talking about her DWTS celeb-fam? Here's what we found out backstage after last night's show:
Bristol wants the world to know that her harmless comments made during her package on DWTS were just that--harmless.
"I wasn't meaning the competition," she tells us of her superficial celebs remark. "That's probably going to be taken the wrong way. But I know there are lots of people out there that turn on a smile for the cameras, when I'm the same 24/7. I'm very real."
So to clarify, Bristol claims she was not referring to her Dancing counterparts, but rather a general statement of Hollywood and the like.
And maybe it's because, as we reported last week, Palin and her partner Mark Ballas believe her seemingly nonceleb style is what's gotten her this far.
"This is my seventh season and I've always had athletes or actresses," Mark explains. "I've had Melissa Joan Heart, Shannen Doherty, and I think this is the first time on a season that we've had someone who isn't on a TV show, isn't in a movie, isn't making records or doing anything like that. We just called Bristol up in Alaska, and now she's in the semifinals. This is the first time the true testament of this show has been told."
Bristol agrees. "That's why we're still around, and I'm happy to be here," she says. "Mark started with someone from scratch, and I'm becoming way more confident and people are watching that journey."
Are you on board with Bristol's explanation? Do you think it's her average Alaskan nature that's keeping her around? Sound off below and be sure to head back here tonight for more backstage scoop on your DWTS finalists.
