“90210” star Shenae Grimes has hit back at claims she is too thin.

“Meet me in person, and you can’t say anything. No bones sticking out,” Grimes told People magazine. “Just because people are calling you skinny doesn’t mean I’m like, ‘Yay!’ No! You’re telling me I don’t look right. This is me, this is my body — I have accepted it.”

Grimes, who told the magazine she has been thin her entire 19 years, said she has not been confronted about her weight, despite a host of reports which suggested she is too skinny.

“Nobody has asked me about it. I really can’t help what someone thinks of me because they are reading a paper and choosing to believe it,” Grimes said.

“It’s so frustrating,” she added.

And the actress, who plays Annie Wilson on The CW show, said the increased attention on her because of the popular show has been tough.

“It was huge culture shock,” she said.

One of the things Grimes seems to have adjusted to though is ignoring the tabloid articles that have suggested she is following in the footsteps of troubled young Hollywood.

“These are stories that have been written about everybody,” Grimes said. “Of course we’re the new girls on a hit show so we’re plopped into these little boxes. And people buy it. It makes me totally second guess anything I’ve ever read about anybody.”
