You know that old saying, the hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world?

Still true – even on Facebook.

Randi Zuckerberg, marketing director of Facebook and an expectant mom herself, noted in a recent interview that moms are the most engaged demographic on Facebook. Well, those cute photos of our babies aren’t going to post themselves.

Zuckerberg interviewed Soleil Moon Frye, the former child star of Punky Brewster, now all grown up and with two daughters of her own. Frye, 34, is still pretty adorable, even without a bandana tied around her leg. She talks about feeling overwhelmed at times by motherhood:

“I literally felt like everyone else got the secret manual to parenting except for me,” she told Zuckerberg. “My house was total chaos, I had my babies and they’d be throwing pancakes up in the air, and I was like, ‘Am I the only one that feels like I live in an alternate universe?’ So I turned to social media to connect with other moms like me and I realized I wasn’t alone, there was a lot of us messy moms out there.”

Yeah for messy moms! Do you feel like you missed out on the secret manual? (Pssst… no one got it!) Has social media helped you as a parent?
