Julie Bain, health director for Ladies' Home Journal, offers some great tips specifically for parents on how to get kids involved with your "green" efforts.

For example, she says, give kids specific tasks. If it's time to clean out the playroom, put them in charge of choosing which toys to donate to charity. Or put one child in charge of making sure the lights are off in empty rooms of the house. Bain even says you should let children issue "citations" at home for misdemeanors like leaving the lights or TV on in an empty room -- hopefully the power won't go to their little heads!
