It's a timeless tune that once heard, you just can't get out of your head, and on Thursday Disney parks hosted a worldwide sing-along to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the “it’s a small world” boat ride.

The colorful animatronic attraction was created as a tribute to peace, friendship and children around the world for the 1964 World’s Fair in New York. The song was written by Richard and Robert Sherman at the request of Walt Disney himself.

Disney officials estimate that during a 16-hour operating day, the song is played, on average, 1,200 times.

Here's a video of sing-along moments from Disneyland Paris, Tokyo and Hong Kong.

For the anniversary, Disney fans also were invited to submit videos of themselves singing along to the tune. Check out some of the submissions.

Disneyland Resort cast members also got into the act, singing the famous tune in a variety of languages.
