As we head into the final days and weeks of summer, we asked TODAY Moms readers how they are spending their time before school starts.
While some informed us that they are already back to school, others are relishing their final days of freedom.
For Sue Gregory of Le Raysville, Pa., the last week of school is filled with outdoor activites and sleepovers.
“This has been a great time to go fishing and just being outside with the kids. This last week before school we have been sitting outside and watching the foxes play in the field, having their friends spend the night and just having fun.”
For Sheila Green Gaudet, the end of summer involves visits with family, a Red Sox game, pool time, and “preparing for my husband’s deployment to Afghanistan next week.”
TODAY Mom Thersa Van Riessen posted on Facebook: One day at our State Fair, another day at the zoo.
For Tracy O’Mara Whitney, the final days are about getting organized. She posted:
Sorting and cleaning out toys we’ve outgrown…Trying to consolidate and purge the excess to sell…Trying to NOT dread the return of the rigid schedule.
Denise Evans Strother is takin her family to “the cottage on the lake to relax!”
And for the family of Andrea Gerhoff, there’s one single focus in these last days of summer. “Beach, beach and more beach.”
