Actor Stephen Baldwin was charged with failing to file New York state income taxes for three years, his attorney Russell Yankwitt confirmed to NBC News on Thursday. Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Zugibe alleges that Baldwin owes more than $350,000 in taxes and penalties.

Baldwin, 46, is the youngest of four well-known acting brothers. He was arraigned Thursday on a charge of repeated failure to file tax returns. He pleaded not guilty and was released without bail. If he's convicted, Baldwin faces up to four years in prison; he's due back in court on Feb. 5.

"Stephen Baldwin is not guilty of any crimes but is working diligently with New York state authorities and the district attorney's office to resolve any disputes they have," Yankwitt told NBC News. "Stephen has the utmost respect for the government officials and is confident that working together, they will reach and amicable resolution."

Baldwin has appeared on "Celebrity Apprentice" and in films such as "The Usual Suspects" and "Born on the Fourth of July."
