The cast of the comedy horror flick "Fright Night" say they are "bummed" by the film's poor performance in the United States and are looking for redemption in Europe.

Actors Anton Yelchin and Christopher Mintz-Plasse spoke to The Associated Press ahead of the film's Sept. 2 opening in Britain.

The film features Colin Farrell as a vampire who goes after a neighbor (Yelchin) who discovers his secret. It took in less than $10 million in its U.S. opening weekend, placing fifth behind films including "The Help" and "Rise of the Planet of the Apes."

The duo hope the Craig Gillespie-directed "Fright Night" — described as a "reimagining" of the 1985 cult classic of the same name — will take a bigger bite out of the European market when it swoops into cinemas this week.
