University of Central Florida officials say a freshman student who was found dead in her on-campus apartment had been at a fraternity party where alcohol was served the night before.

UCF Officials said Friday that 18-year-old Ann Marie Hefferin was at a Sigma Chi party where alcohol was served in violation of school policy.

Hefferin was found unresponsive early Thursday, hours after she was at the party.

She later died at a nearby hospital.

The cause of death is still being investigated.

UCF officials say the fraternity could face disciplinary procedures.
