Cookie Monster's favorite sweet treat has a creative new twist thanks to Cronut creator Dominique Ansel.
The newfangled dessert is called the chocolate-chip cookie milk shot. It's the chef's modern approach to the legendary after-school snack that's been around since Ruth Wakefield first made one at the Toll House restaurant in the 1930s.
"I love this," Hoda Kotb gushed, while they continued munching throughout the show.
"It tasted exactly like a chocolate chip cookie should," TODAY digital producer Amy Eley said. "It was soft, chewy and the chocolate interior added a yummy crunch."
The edible shot has chunks of chocolate throughout and Ansel's bakery will sell it at room temperature so the cookie doesn't crumble when filled with milk.
"It's delectable, but very leaky," said TODAY multimedia producer Samantha Okazaki, who is sucker for all things sweet. "It was a bit soggy but all in all still delicious."
The treats make their debut Friday at the chef's New York City bakery. They'll be available seven days at week starting at 3 p.m.
Like they do for Cronuts, patrons will need to line up early, unless of course you're Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb.
They had them on set for their "Tryday Friday" show.
No matter what shape and size they are, most people agree with Cookie Monster's favorite song lyric that "C is for cookie and that's good enough for me."
