Wrestler, rapper, movie star and TODAY pal John Cena stopped by Studio 1A Tuesday to co-host during the 9 o'clock hour, but he had to admit he was eager to leave as soon as he started.

And he had a good reason.

Cena, who picked out the Morning Jam and went with Etta James' classic "At Last," explained.

"There's a young lady I haven't seen in a while," he said in a sincere tone. "I've been stuck in the woods, doing a show called 'American Grit,' and she's across town. After I talk to you guys ... this is the only song I dance to, and I'm saving a dance for her."

Tamron Hall and Natalie Morales couldn't hold back the "aws."

"I miss her so," Cena said. "I'm looking forward to this being done, but for all the right reasons."

Fans of Cena will likely know that the woman he's talking about it is his longtime girlfriend Nikki Bella or "my Nicole," as he referred to her on the show.

"I've been away from her for too long," he added.

If all of those sweet words make Cena sound like the perfect partner, well, you weren't the only one thinking that.

"John, when you do stuff like that, the rest of us guys don't have a chance," Willie Geist said.

But Cena had the right response for that, too.

"As long as I keep getting a chance with her, I'm all right," he countered.
